He is best known for his award winning ongoing art series called (boxboy Jr. Cardboard Box Adventures). “I used to love collecting the leftover cardboard boxes from packages as a kid. These boxes would become my next adventure. My imagination turned these cardboard structures into castles, spaceship command centers, flying trains and whatever else I thought of. This was the start of me wanting to travel and see the world whenever I got the opportunity. I was inspired by my son to illustrate this important phase of my childhood. I wanted him to see a character that looked like him traveling the world and using his imagination as the starting point. So I created this character called (boxboy Jr.). He’s a Cuban and African American mixed boy who uses a cardboard box as a vehicle to journey through his imagination. This is the character you see in all of my artwork and animations.” This art series has allow Alex to travel the world with his family while winning hundreds of awards and spreading the importance of imagination along the way.
